12 March 2020: Barakat Cotton starts trial production in their new production facility in Islahiye Gaziantep Turkey. The newest and most advanced cotton processing plant in Turkey, meets the industry's highest standards to produce high quality absorbent bleached cotton comber.

28 September 2020: Barakat Cotton becomes a licensee of Cotton Incorporated. Cotton Incorporated is a not-for-profit company providing the resources and research needed to help companies develop and market superior, innovative, and profitable cotton products. The company's efforts are focused across every area of the cotton life cycle from fiber through finished product.

08 October 2020: Barakat Cotton has been inspected and assessed by Control Union Certifications in accordance with the Global Organic Textile Standards (GOTS) and has obtained Scope Certificate No. CU1070886GOTS-2020-00063058.

The Global Organic Textile Standard (GOTS) is recognised as the world's leading processing standard for textiles made from organic fibres. It defines high-level environmental criteria along the entire organic textiles supply chain and requires compliance with social criteria as well.

30 October 2020: Barakat Pamuk complied with the necessary licensing requirements of the Cotton Council International and became a certified Cotton USA licensee. Cotton Council International (CCI) is a non-profit trade association that promotes U.S. cotton fiber and manufactured cotton products around the globe with the COTTON USA trademark.

24 February 2021: Barakat Cotton is positively engaged in caring and preserving the environment. Tree planting is one way of showing our efforts in making this world a much better place to live in. On 24 February 2021, the whole team at Barakat Pamuk joined hands to plant 160 trees on the first annual planting activity of the company in Islahiye, Turkey.

10 March 2021: Barakat Pamuk has successfully obtained from DQS, one of the leading certification bodies for management systems worldwide, the below mentioned certification:
• ISO 9001:2015 Quality Management
• ISO 14001:2015 Environmental Management
• ISO 45001:2018 Occupational Health and Safety Management

06 October 2021: Barakat Pamuk has been Fairtrade Certified by Flocert, a leading certifier offering verification services to Fairtrade organisations globally.
